Database- The database is the collection related data which can manage, access, update and delete.

 

Database management system-

The database is the software which use to store, process, update, manage, access data.

 

Type of database- 

 

(1) Relational database

(2) Hierarchical database

(3) Distributed database

(4) Network database

 

Application- The database uses everywhere school, bank, airline railway govt. and private sectors etc.

 

Example of database- Access, SQL and Oracle etc.

 

The database is one of the most important subject in computer science and engineering.

 

Characteristics of Database management system-

 

(1) Store-The data store in table

(2) Redundancy- The database never repetition same data.

(3) Security- The database must provide security to user.

(4) Access- There is multiple use can access the data at a time.

(5) Consistency- There are data must update regularly in database

(6) Sorting- It can for sorting of data.

(7) Backup and recovery- The database can take backup and 

     recovery.

(8) Integrity- The database must integrity.

 

Advantage of DBMS

(1) It save time.

(2) It save money.

(3) It is easy to access everywhere.

(4) It can easily share.

(5) It can easily generate report.

(6) The database helps to avoid redundant of data.

(7) The database to store easy manage, data and update.

(8) It provides security.

 

Disadvantage of DBMS -

 

(1) Expensive- It increase cost of hardware and software.

(2) Complexity-The DBMS is complexity.

(3) Size- The DBMS has large size.
