What is Software

Software-The set of instruction which is use to execute specific task is called program.

The set of program which is use to execute specific task is called software.

  

The branch of computer science in which study of how to design, develop and production of Software is called Software Engineering. 

Definition

Type- There are two type of software.

System Software- It is software which is between hardware and user. It is also called operating software It tells what to do in computer for example- Window, Linux

  

Application Software- The software which is use for particular task is called application software.

There many types of application software-

 

Program language- C, C++, Visual Basic

Database-Access, Oracle etc.

Internet- chrome, Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox,

Accounting- Tally

Networking

Driver software- all type of hardware driver like printer, scanner, Nero etc.

Entertainment-TV software

Mobile- android, apple, window

Photo editing- Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier

Video editing- Window media, Fillmore, Sony

Antivirus-AVG Anti virus

 

Algorithm- The step by step solve any problem is called algorithm. It writes step by step all process of any solution problem.

 

For example of addition of two number

 

Step 1: Start  

Step 2: Declare of value

Step 3: Read value num1 and num2.     

Step 4: Sum=num1+num2  

Step 5: Display sum    

Step 6: Stop 

 

Advantages of algorithm-

 

(1) It helps to solve problem.

(2) It makes easy to develop software.

(3) It saves time.

(4) It reduces complexity.

 

 

Flow chart- The graphical representation of every algorithm is called is flow chart.

There are some basic tool

 

Compiler-

 

A compiler is software translate convert programming language into machine language or low-level language. It converts entire program, into machine code.

 

Interpreter-

The interpreter is a computer program convert program into machine language or low level language. It converts program statements, line by line, into machine code.

  

Pseudo code-

The writing of instruction in a language for problem solving or complete any task is called pseudo code. The pseudo code code call write in any language.

 

(1) It easier than algorithm

(2) It helps to complete any task.
