What is motherboard-

The motherboard, often referred to as the main board or system board, is the central circuit board in a computer that connects all the other components together.

The main components on the mother board.

(1) CPU Socket-This is central processing unit (CPU) is installed. It provides the connection between the CPU and the rest of the computer system.

(2) Chipset- The chipset consists of one or more chips that control the flow of data between the CPU, memory, storage devices, and peripherals.

(3) RAM Slots-The Random Access Memory (RAM) les are installed in these slots. RAM stores data that the CPU needs to access quickly,

It is temporary storage for running programs and data.

(4) Expansion Slots- These slots allow for the installation of expansion cards, like graphics cards, sound cards, network cards etc.

(5) BIOS/UEFI Chip- The Basic Input and output System (BIOS) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) chip contains firmware that initializes the hardware

components during startup and provides the basic input and output functions which needed to boot the operating system.

(6) Connectors- There are various connectors are present on the motherboard like USB ports, SATA ports for storage drives port, audio jacks, Ethernet ports, and video connectors.

(7) Power Connectors- These connectors provide power to the motherboard from the computer's power supply unit (PSU).

(8) Clock Generator -This component generates the system clock signal, which synchronizes the operations of the CPU and other components on the motherboard.

(9) Voltage Regulators- The Voltage Regulators circuits regulate and distribute the voltage supplied to the various components on the motherboard.

(10) CMOS Battery- The CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor). It is the small battery which power chip. It storage BIOS settings and system configuration data even when the computer is powered off.

Conclusion- communication and coordination among the various hardware components so computer can smooth work.
