What is Modem

 

The modem is hardware devices which convert analog to digital signal. Modem word mean Modulation and demodulation. It uses to send data from one computer to another computer.

It uses to connect internet connection. The speed of modem is measure in kbps.

 

 

Type of modem-

 

(1) External modem- 

     This kind of modem put out side of computer.

 

(2) Internal modem-

    It is like electronic circuit which is situated on motherboard.

 

(3) Dialup modem- This modem connect from telephonic cable

 

(4) Broadband modem- This modem is high speed modem than

     dialup modem.

 

(5) Wireless modem- this modem connect with wi-fi to computer.

 

Application-

 

(1) It converts analog signal to digital signal.

(2) It transmission of data.

(3) It saves time.

(4) It increases speed of data transmission.
