The Laxman Jhula is name of Bridge. The Laxman is name of younger brother of Lord Shri Ram and Jhula mean suspension bridge.


 According to Hindu mythology first of Laxman cross Ganga river by jute ropes where the bridge is constructed. This bridge has spiritual importance.

 It is constructed over Ganga river Rishikesh. It connects villages of Tapovan to Jonk. It is one of the iconic landmark in Rishikesh. This bridge constructed year1927-1929. It open for public in 11 April 1930.

 

 

There is another bridge near Laxman Jhula which is name Ram Jhula
