The Shrad Paksha is words made by two words.

The Shard mean worship, paying homage to their ancestors, tribute and donation for them whom are dead like mother father and Paksha mean period of 15 days.

What is Shrad Paksha-

How do Shrad worship -

The Shrad is type of worship which dedicated to peace of our ancestors whom have died. After complete of worship donation given to priest and poor people. And pray from ancestors for blessing of happiness and prosperity.

 

This worship is always done by near river or near water source. The worship is done by priest.

 

 

Who offer worship of Shrad-

 

This worship is done by son or grandson.

In any case a person who do not have son or grandson his or her nephew done this worship and if nephew not available than priest do this worship and dedicated them.

This day son or grandson donate food, water and money to their priest and poor people.

 

When perform this worship-

 

There are 12 months in hindu calender. Each month is divide in two segment. Each part has 15 days period so there are two segments of 15 days.

 

First 15 days period in which moon raise and it increase till 15 days last 15 days is complete moon raise on sky this day is called Purnima. This 15 days period is called Shukla Paksha

 

Shukla Paksha is hindi word which made by two word Shukla which mean Shine and Second Paksha mean period of 15 days.

 

Each day of Shukla Paksha is called tithe so 15 tithe of Shukla Paksha.

 

Second 15 days period in which size of moon going to decrease till 15 days last 15 days is complete moon disappear on sky this days is called Amavasya. This 15 days period is called Krishan Paksha.

 

Krishan Paksha is hindi word which made by two word Krishan which mean dark and second Paksha mean period of 15 days.

 

Each day of Krishan Paksha is called tithe so 15 tithe of Krishna Paksha.

 

The Shrad period of year 2022-

 

 According to hindu calender Shrad worship is done in month Bhadrapada of hindu calender Krashna Paksha.

 

This year Shard Period is start from 17 September to 25 September 2022.

 

Importance of Shrad- 

There are purpose behind Shrad is to remember them, paying homage to their ancestors, tribute and pray for them for our ancestors and ask from blessing for health happy and prosperity in life.  

 

The most Popular place of Shrad-

The most Popular place of Shrad is done nearby Ganga river which is biggest river in India and place in Haridwar Uttaranchal and Varanasi Uttar Pradesh INDIA
