What is Navratri-

 

There are so many festivals in hindu religion.

The Diwali is the biggest festival in hindu culture after Diwali the Navratri is the second biggest festival in Hindu religion.

 

The Navratri is the word which made by the two word one is Nav which mean nine and second is Ratri which mean night. Because the festival is run 9 days so this is called Navratri.

This festival is also known as Durga Puja.

 Goddess Durga

This festival is dedicated to worship of Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga is the wife of Lord Shiva. The Lord Shiva is the biggest god in Hindu religion.

There thousands of name of goddess Durga like Vashnavi, Jagadamba, Chandi, Chahunda, Bhavani, Mahishasurmardani, Kali, etc.

 

Goddess Durga has red color dress and Trishul is favorites weapon and her lion or tiger is her vechile.

This festival run nine days. Every day different worship of different form of Goddess Durga. 

The all nine forms name are given below.

 

(1)Shailputri

(2)Bramacharani

(3)Chadrakanta

(4)Kushmanda

(5)Skandmata

(6)Katyayani

(7)Kalaratri

(8)Mahagauri

(9)Sididdhidatri

All 9 form of  Durga have different, cloth, weapons and vechile.

How this festival celebrates-

 

This day people decorate their home and temples decoration with flower and lights. The first day is Ghat Stapna. This day first day of Navratri festival start.

 

 

Each nine days different form of devotee worships of different form of Goddess Durga. Pilgrims offer different kinds of flower, fruit, sweets to Goddess Durga. The people gift sweets, new cloths and money to girls.

 

Along with Durga devotee also worship of Lord Bharav who is the biggest devotee of Goddess Durga.

 

There are Pandal are made in which idol of goddess Durga situated. Pandal is like tent which decorated from decoration with flowers and lights. It is only made for this during the festival.

 

The 8^th day is the most special for Durga puja. This day is called Asthmi and 9 day last day of this festival which called Navami.

The 10 day is called  Vijaydashmi.

Shakti Pith-

 

There are millions of temple of Durga in India. There are 51 Shakti Pith of Durga.

Shakti mean name of Durga and Pith mean temple. The Shakti Pith is special kind of temple where worship is fast and easily accept by Durga.

 

Importance of Navratri-

 

There is big importance of Navratri this festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga who protect their devotee from disease, enemy, disaster and give blessing health, wealth and prosperity.
